“Between every two pine trees there is a door leading to a new way of life”

This quote by John Muir presents a profound visual image with which to start the new year.

For many of us, each morning brings a new beginning. The thoughts and feelings of the previous day are processed and left behind, and we are privileged with a fresh start.

Many of us see the new year as an opportunity to start afresh. We commit to a vision, create manageable goals to methodically get closer to the vision, and get up each day to do our best to reach it.

We may not need a new way of life. It is important to realize what we have already is perfect in its own way. Making small improvements to our lives is within the control of each of us.

The mountain may seem big, but as soon as we decide on an action, and take the first step, the mountain reduces in size and we are able to go forward.

What small improvements will you decide to make today?
